Potable Water Storage and Distribution System Improvements Project

Project Description:

The project involves the installation of a 140,000-gallon bolted steel water storage tank  and 6, 125 linear feet of 8-inch C900 potable water distribution pipeline with associated piping, fittings, valves, utility boxes, pressure reducing stations, fire hydrants. This Project also includes various site improvement such as the construction of a modular retaining wall, two chlorine dosing stations, perimeter fencing, asphalt pavement, earthwork, grading, electrical improvements and SCADA integration by ICAD. The tank is being installed to store water pumped from the new groundwater well source, which will be delivered to the community of Big Oak Flat through the new distribution pipeline.  This tank, pipeline and groundwater well allows the community of Big Oak Flat to be isolated from the Groveland system in the event of emergency or major drought, with the well meeting the entire water demand of Big Oak flat.  The project also supplies water at pressures and flows that will improve firefighting capabilities of the area, and hopefully improve insurance rates.
