GCSD Fire Department

Emblem of Groveland CSD Fire Rescue, featuring firefighting tools, a hydrant, and a rescue symbol, established in 1953.

The Groveland Fire Department was created by Groveland Community Services District (GCSD) Board action in 1973 and has a jurisdictional authority area of approximately 14.9 square miles, protecting over 4,500 residents in Groveland, Big Oak Flat, and the surrounding communities.

In 2013, GCSD entered into a cooperative Schedule A Agreement with CAL FIRE, under which CAL FIRE provides fire protection and emergency response personnel and services, fully funded by GCSD.

The Groveland Fire Station, apparatus, and equipment are owned and maintained by GCSD. These assets, along with the Schedule A Agreement, are completely funded through the District’s allocated share of property tax revenue generated within its boundaries.
