Bio:
Stephen “Steve” Rogers
IT Manager
Steve serves as the IT Manager for Groveland Community Services District, where he is responsible for maintaining and supporting much of the technology and communications infrastructure that keeps the District operating. His work encompasses workstations, servers, networking, and communications equipment, including internet, cellular, and radio systems, as well as providing technical support to District staff.
Steve’s responsibilities extend beyond traditional IT. He installs, configures, and maintains the instrumentation and equipment necessary for the District’s water and wastewater treatment operations. He also assists with the installation, maintenance, and servicing of the District’s electrical systems and equipment, providing technical expertise across multiple areas of District operations.
One of the things Steve enjoys most about working at GCSD is his teammates. He appreciates working alongside the people throughout the District and takes pride in the accomplishments they achieve together.
One project that stands out to Steve is restoring the District’s SCADA radio network to full operation. The system had experienced problems for years, and bringing the network back online and fully functional required extensive collaboration and technical expertise. Successfully restoring this critical communications network is an accomplishment Steve is particularly proud of.
Steve brings a diverse technical background to GCSD. His education and professional training include general education at Canyon High School, a bachelor’s degree from ITT Technical Institute, and specialized training through USNAW in electronics, aviation electronics, and calibration, including physical, dimensional, and electronic calibration. Steve worked with several groups and professionals, including Aqua Sierra, Instrumentation and Calibration Services, Electrical and IT professionals, the United Auburn Indian Community IT and Security team, and USNAW Aviation Electronics, Instrumentation and Calibration.
Steve and his wife enjoy living in Groveland and were drawn to the community because of its small-town charm, close-knit community, and the beauty of the foothills. They relocated to Groveland when Steve accepted his position with GCSD and continue to appreciate the location and community they now call home.
Steve also enjoys giving back to the community. He has donated his time to Tuolumne Trails Campground and hopes to see the campground reopen under new management so it can continue providing the services and experiences it has offered the community over the years. Steve would welcome the opportunity to work with future management and help maintain the level of service the campground has provided in the past.
