Candidate Forum for GCSD Board Election

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT
The Board of Directors candidate forum originally scheduled for Saturday, September 26th at the Groveland Community Resilience Center will not proceed as planned and is expected to be rescheduled for a future date.
District staff originally requested that the League of Women Voters conduct a candidate forum and, at the League’s request, offered logistical and facility support for the event. At the League’s request, the District was pleased to provide logistical and facility support for the event. The District understands that the League now intends to conduct the forum directly and without such support from District staff, and the District fully supports that decision.
The intent of the candidate forum is to provide the community with a fair and impartial forum for candidates and constituents. The District regrets any confusion regarding its role in the planning process.
Please stay tuned for further information and scheduling announcements from the League of Women Voters.

Groveland Community Resilience Center
Recognizing the importance of providing the community with an opportunity to hear directly from the candidates in a fair and neutral setting, the League of Women Voters of the Mother Lode has offered to facilitate an independent candidate forum.
The forum will be in accordance with the League’s established guidelines for candidate forums, which are designed to ensure a fair, impartial, and nonpartisan process. The League will provide the moderator and oversee the forum format. Candidates will have an opportunity to introduce themselves, respond to questions concerning GCSD and issues affecting the community, and provide closing statements.
We greatly appreciate the League of Women Voters of the Mother Lode's willingness to provide its experience and independent, nonpartisan facilitation for this candidate forum.
