Interior view of a metal structure with black plastic sheeting, some poles, and a wrench on the floor.

PROJECT PURPOSE AND DESCRIPTION
The Project is for the benefit of the Recipient and has a Useful Life of 15 years. The funding under this Agreement shall be used to rehabilitate the Big Creek and Second Garrote clearwells used by Recipient. The clearwells provide the necessary contact time for disinfection of the raw water. The Recipient primarily uses Hetch Hetchy water, which has a filtration avoidance permit. Disinfection is the only treatment the water receives. The most recent interior inspection of the clearwells revealed severe internal corrosion.

SCOPE OF WORK
The Recipient agrees to do the following: Removing the existing epoxy coating and applying a new coating to the steel tank surfaces. Perform a condition assessment of the interior and determine the number of structural members that need to be replaced. The Recipient will require removing the existing baffles to apply the coating thoroughly to the surfaces of the tanks. Upon Completion of Construction, the Recipient must expeditiously initiate Project operations.

Funding for this project has been provided in full or in part under the Safe and Affordable Funding for Equity and Resiliency (SAFER) Drinking Water Program Proposition 68 California State Water Resources Control Board - Grant Funded $3,954,200
