Alexander “Ozzy” Lara
Water & Wastewater Operator II – Operations Department
Ozzy is one of the newest members of the Groveland Community Services District team, joining GCSD in April 2025. Although he is new to the District, Ozzy has quickly become a familiar and valued member of the Operations team. With his energetic personality, infectious smile, and positive attitude, he has a way of brightening the room wherever he goes.
As a Water & Wastewater Operator II, Ozzy’s work focuses on supporting the District’s water and wastewater operations and helping ensure the community receives safe, high-quality water. Ozzy is also a Wastewater Operator-in-Training and is currently working toward testing for his Grade II Wastewater Operator certification, continuing to expand his knowledge and skills in the water and wastewater field. He enjoys being part of the Operations crew and working alongside the team to provide reliable services to the Groveland community.
One of Ozzy’s professional goals is to continue building his knowledge and certifications in the water industry. He is particularly proud of earning his T3 Water Treatment and D3 Water Distribution certifications, accomplishments that reflect his dedication to growing his skills and taking on the responsibilities of his profession.
Before joining GCSD, Ozzy brought a diverse background of experience to the District. He spent eight years working for California State Parks in roles including Maintenance Aide, Park Aide, and Water System and Plant Specialist (WSPS) Trainee. He also spent five years with Bay Area Backflow Services, where he worked as a Backflow Technician and Plumber.
Ozzy’s education includes an Associate of Arts degree in Mathematics and Physics, providing him with a strong technical and analytical foundation that complements his work in water and wastewater operations.
Although Ozzy may not be one to talk much about his accomplishments, his experience, work ethic, and positive attitude speak for themselves. He says one of the things he enjoys most about working at GCSD is the crew he gets to work with, and his enthusiasm for being part of that team is evident to everyone around him.
