Bio:

Adam Ahlswede - District Property, Easements, and Assets Manager

Adam's role brings together property and asset management, engineering and operational support, and technology administration to help GCSD maintain its infrastructure and deliver reliable services. He manages District properties, easements, and site leases; develop and maintain GIS mapping of water and sewer infrastructure; and oversee engineering drawings and related records. He also reviews project plans, helps establish design requirements, and assist with capital project administration and coordination with consultants, agencies, and property owners.

Adam supports water and wastewater operations and helps manage the District’s IT network, phone systems, and software applications. This includes implementing and administering systems for employee performance evaluations, staff training, and electronic document management, with an emphasis on improving information access, coordination, and efficiency across the District.

Adam enjoys the variety of his work and the opportunity to solve problems that make a practical difference for the District and the community. His role allows him to connect technical details with broader needs, whether that means working through an infrastructure challenge, improving access to information, or helping staff use a new system effectively. He finds it especially rewarding to turn a complicated issue into a workable solution that helps others do their jobs and supports reliable service to our community.

Adam is particularly proud of his work developing and maintaining the District’s GIS mapping of our water and sewer systems and making that information useful in day-to-day operations and project planning. Bringing together engineering drawings, field information, and asset records takes ongoing attention to both accuracy and practical needs. For Adam, the value is in helping staff better understand our infrastructure, make informed decisions, and preserve knowledge that the District will rely on for years to come.

What Adam enjoys most about working in Groveland is the opportunity to serve the community where he grew up. Adam attended Tenaya Elementary and part of high school at Tioga before graduating from Sonora High. Although he moved to the valley to begin his career and raise a family, his family’s roots here kept him connected. When he joined GCSD in 2020, he and his wife  moved their family back to Groveland. Coming home and contributing to the services our neighbors rely on makes his work especially meaningful.

In addition to his work with GCSD, Adam serves as pastor of Groveland Christian Fellowship. There’s something special about serving, teaching, and leading a congregation as he pursues Jesus in the community where he grew up.
