Groveland Community Services District (GCSD) staff will be set up in the beer
garden at Around The Horn Brewing Company this Saturday, November 20th from 11 AM to 7 PM.
The Team is conducting a community input event and interactive display of a number of park improvement concepts developed over the past two years based on identified needs and input from the community.
GCSD is looking to receive the highest level of public input on community needs and dreams for Mary
Laveroni Park and the District’s additional lands totaling 250 acres adjacent to the existing park. GCSD’s
goal is to incorporate all of the public input received into a final, master planned project that will be highly
competitive for a significant amount of state and federal grant funds becoming available for park
improvements, and to improve a community’s resilience to economic impact from emergencies such as the pandemic while increasing healthy recreation opportunities that help to support and enhance local tourism.
In addition to other goals, the GCSD Team is planning for the future by looking for ways to increase park
safety and functionality, increase recreation and tourism opportunities, support healthy and active lifestyles, serve the need for active transportation of the local community, and offer greater nature access andexploration to residents and visitors.
GCSD Staff is excited about this significant amount of grant money that is available through the state and
federal programs and the benefits it could have for the community.
Come see them at “The Horn” and let them know what you think!
